Alcaraz Shrugs Off Injury Concerns to Reach French Open Third Round
Despite Forearm Injury, Young Star Dominates First-Round Match
Carlos Alcaraz has declared that his injured forearm is improving after claiming a dominant first-round French Open win over JJ. Wolf.
The 19-year-old Spanish sensation, who retired from his Madrid Open semi-final earlier this month with the injury, showed no signs of discomfort as he cruised to a 6-3, 6-1, 6-2 victory over the American qualifier.
Alcaraz admitted that he was not at his best in terms of rhythm and timing but was pleased with his performance overall.
"I'm happy with the way I played today," said Alcaraz. "I felt like I was improving throughout the match, and I'm confident that I can continue to get better as the tournament goes on."
Alcaraz will face compatriot Albert Ramos-Vinolas in the second round.
